September 7 - News Update

The first week is done. It has been a fantastic start-up and has been fantastic to see the excitement of our students and connect with them again after the summer break!

This year to assist with communication we will be sharing regular updates via the website instead of doing a monthly newsletter. Communication between home and school is vital. Our hope is that this process will allow us to share relevant school information in a timely manner that is easily accessible to all of our community. If you have any questions or concerns about this please give us a call.

Community BBQ and Meet the Teacher Evening - September 20 from 5:00-7:00

Everyone is invited to come to the school on September 20 for a free hot dog and fixings in front of the school with desert to follow in the classroom afterward. The community BBQ will begin at 5:00 and the dessert in your child's classroom will be at 6:00. This is an opportunity to connect with your child’s new teacher, or say hi to anyone else involved in their education. You can get to know other members of your community and celebrate the start of another successful school year.

Beginning and End of the Day Supervision

Reminder that our supervision begins at 8:20 and ends after the busses leave at the end of the day. We always do a sweep after supervision to ensure that all of the students on the playgrounds are accounted for. To assist us with this process, if your child is late in the morning, please ensure that they check in at the office(remember the doors are locked other than at the front).  After school, if you are letting your child play at the playground, please have them come home to check in with you and return after the busses have departed.

Kids Plus Voluntary Accident Insurance

Parkland School Division has made arrangements for families to purchase additional student accident insurance voluntarily through the Kids Plus™ Accident Insurance program. This type of coverage is especially valuable for families who:

  • Do not have medical or dental plans
  • Have limited plans
  • Have active children who enjoy sports and outdoor activities
