December 13 - News Update
With Christmas fast approaching there is lots of excitement and business in the air. We want to take this opportunity heading into this Christmas season to thank all of our families, students, and staff for making this year an incredible year so far! We really appreciate the support and collaboration that exists in our wonderful school community. We want to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope that this break will be a time of rest, relaxation, and joy as you spend time with your families and loved ones.
We are looking forward to hosting our Christmas Concerts again this year! Our students and staff have been working hard preparing for them. All families are invited to attend; however, similar to last year we are planning on live streaming the concerts again in case there are loved ones who are not able to attend in person. We will be posting a link on the website very soon for you to share with loved ones to join in and take in the show!
The Kindergarten to Grade 2 concert will be Friday, Dec. 14 from 1:30-2:30.
The Grade 3-6 (Group A) will have their Christmas Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 7-8 p.m.
The Grade 3-6 (Group B) will have their Christmas Concert on Wednesday, Dec. 19 from 7-8 p.m.
A letter was already sent home; however, in case you never had a chance to see it you can click this link for more details about the grade 3-6 concerts.
Winner of this year's "People Choice" at the Festival of Trees in Edmonton and created by one of our very own Forest Green Families, this Reindeer Cake (picture below) is up for Raffle. Raffle tickets will be $1 per entry and all proceeds will go to The Forest Green Parent Council to support all of the great work they do in our school. See the cake in person in the front office or at your child's Christmas Concert. We will do the draw on December 20th. Good Luck and Merry Christmas!
Our Christmas Shop was an incredible success again this year! A huge thank-you to our incredible volunteers for the many hours of planning, shopping, and organizing that goes into making this event a success. It is amazing to see the pride and joy the students have to shop for and wrap their presents for their loved ones.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas these days!!
Celebrations are starting this week with the K-2 Christmas Concert on Friday afternoon.
We will be holding a bake sale to support some of the new school programs and to help get everyone in the spirit! You can purchase a half hour before the concerts and then again for the half hour after the concert ends. We really appreciate those that can bring small change.
We are also hoping to have baked goods donated by some of our wonderful families. Baked goods can be dropped off in the school kitchen anytime before noon on Friday so that we have time to price it and set up. Baked goods should be wrapped and ready for individual sale. Last year we had everything from individually wrapped cookies and squares, to decorative bags and boxes, to whole cakes!
Thanks again to everyone for all your support this year.
We want to thank everyone from our community who supported the Stony Plain Kinsmen Christmas Hampers campaign. Your thoughtfulness will help make Christmas much brighter for individuals and families in Stony Plain and Parkland County West.
Thanks to the generosity of people from the region who participated in the campaign, 580 families will be receiving hampers which means a significant positive difference at this time of year for 1697 residents in our community.
