Pink Shirt Day

Pink shirt day is coming up this Wednesday, February 27. The focus of this year’s Pink Shirt Day at Forest Green is Choose Kindness! All students, staff, parents and community are invited to wear pink on this day to help raise awareness. Our Student Wellness Action Team has made some posters that will be displayed in the hallways reminding everybody to wear pink on this day and focus on choosing kindness.

Visit the Pink Shirt Day website for more information.

Online Regisration/Verification for the 2019-2020 School Year

Registration for school and/or busing in Parkland School Division is conducted exclusively online. ALL parents/guardians MUST complete a registration form or verify and/or update information on file before their student(s) can be registered for the upcoming school year.

All students from K-12 will be able to either register (new students) or verify their existing data (returning students) online, beginning February 4, 2019.

To ensure that their child receives a bus pass prior to the start of the school year, parents are required to complete registration by 4:30pm on March 22, 2019. This deadline will facilitate the routing of buses, bus pass production and data verification before the summer break while schools are still operating. For more information please visit this link or feel free to call the school office should you have any questions.

Calling All Kindergarten Students for Next Year!

We are now accepting Kindergarten registrants for the 2019-20120 school year! As noted above we are accepting registrations online however, we also invite any of our new students to give us a call at the school if you have any questions.

Additionally, all Kindergarten Open Houses for all schools in Parkland School Division that offer Kindergarten programming will be held from 6-7pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. Students and families are welcome to attend Forest Green’s Open house at this time to learn more about the school and program.

For more information please visit this link or feel free to call the school office should you have any questions.

Stony Plain Library Event

We are invited to a program at the Library on Saturday afternoon, March 16th between 2:30-4pm to help bring continued awareness to families in need.  They are sharing with the families of the community free baked goodies and lemonade made by the My PATH students in hopes of collecting voluntary donations to any or all of the following groups, APFA (in support of new mom’s in need), the Parkland Food Bank, and the Pet Food Bank of Parkland County.  Representatives from APFA, and the Pet Food Bank will be present to answer any questions about the role they play to support the community. They hope to have the Mayor of Stony Plain stop by and we will be offering everyone an opportunity to plant a seed, or create a cookbook to be donated to the Parkland Food Bank and distributed to their families.

Jump Rope for Heart

Thanks to everybody who has been participating in Jump Rope for Heart and to our grade two students who kicked off this fundraiser for Heart and Stroke awareness. Students in all grades who have brought back their fundraising forms have the chance to win prizes like skipping ropes, mini basketballs, gift cards, and even a camera or a bike!
