Shelter-In-Place - Friday, September 20, 2019

September 20, 2019 - We just wanted to provide our parents and guardians an update regarding the shelter-in-place called during the afternoon of Friday, September 20, 2019.  RCMP were on scene quickly to deal with an incident involving one student outside the school.

A shelter-in-place simply means the school is locked with no arrivals or departures of anyone, including staff, students or parents. Regular day-to-day activities carry on in situations like this.

There was no safety concern for students or staff inside the school at any time. As always, in accordance with the Education Act, Forest Green School respects the privacy for individuals in circumstances like this.

At Parkland School Division, the safety and well-being of all our students is of the utmost priority.  We'd like to extend a thank you to the Parkland RCMP detachment for their assistance on this matter.

Thankfully, this was not an emergency and happened to be a situation that needed to be dealt with outside our school. To familiarize yourself with Division and school emergency procedures, please click here.
